Our Story

Reform Athletica is a boutique fitness studio inspired by the vibrant fitness scenes of New York, London and LA. Located in Dubai’s Jumeirah 1 community – the studio is located perfectly between the urban city bustle and Dubai’s beautiful beaches.

Reform Athletica is focused on the promotion of fitness at all stages of life, as part of a regular fitness maintenance routine. We deliver fun, body-changing workouts in a motivating environment – keeping class sizes small, so we can focus on every individual. The owners, inspired by their personal experiences and seeing the benefits of regular Pilates and TRX exercise, decided to open their own studio - designed to reflect their vision of the ideal workout space. Our mission has been to create a space that represents and blends all of our core principles: environmentally friendly, culturally enriching and physically rewarding.

We are boutique; we are not a gym, and we are not priced like a gym. Our classes are capped at 10-16 people, depending on the class. We have four signature classes: The Reform Method, TRX Athletica, RA Yoga and Kettle Form. Each of our workouts are designed to complement one another - between low intensity, high intensity, stretching, strength and conditioning - we have it covered. Our classes are 50 minutes long and we don’t distinguish between skill levels - beginners and advanced participants are all equally welcome. No prior experience is required for any class; our instructors will modify exercises or demonstrate alternatives to ensure that you get the most out of your session, no matter your gender or level of experience.

Our studio has been custom made; it is a cross between an intimate fitness studio and an art gallery. We’ve partnered with local galleries to showcase the very latest talent in the local art scene, as well as displaying some of our own art collections. In an effort to promote our goal of sustainability, we aim to minimise ‘one-use’ plastic consumption: so there are no plastic cups and no plastic bottles, and any bottles offered will be fully recyclable. We have S’well bottles on offer, encouraging our clients to participate in our drive to minimise plastic wastage. Our drinking water will not be delivered in plastic bottles; we will have filtered water instead. These efforts have resulted in our studio being awarded the badge of “Ocean Champion”, the highest level of the Oceanic Standard in recognition of our efforts to adopt a holistic approach to sustainable operating practices with a strong focus on eliminating single-use plastic. Our partnerships are with local home-grown brands that share the same passion and have the same vision of giving back to the community, making a difference and raising environmental awareness in the region.

FAQ'S

What do I wear to class?

Your normal gym gear! For Trx Athletica, you should wear trainers. For the Reform Method grip socks are recommended.

My first class – what to expect?

Come in at least 15 minutes early to change and familiarise yourself with the space, changing rooms and studios. Let your trainer know if you’re new of any conditions or injuries you have or if you’re pregnant. Bring your Reform Athletica water bottle to class. Water points are available in the studios to fill your bottle. For those of you who don’t have a bottle with them, they are available to purchase at the reception.

Do you have a beginner’s class?

No – we don’t make a distinction! Our approach and philosophy is that all levels are welcome. Every class can be tailored to both beginners and advanced students. The instructor gives suggestions for every level of fitness and experience. Let the instructor know that it's your first class so he or she can guide you through the process. It's a good idea to arrive 10-15 minutes early for your first class to check in.

Are there changing rooms, showers, lockers?

Yes, yes and yes! We have lockers in the changing rooms for client use but we do not recommend bringing anything valuable as we are not responsible for any lost or stolen goods. Our changing rooms are equipped with all that is needed to get you from gym ready to street ready.

What is the cancellation policy?

Should you need to cancel your session, please be aware that Reform Athletica operates a 12 hour cancelation policy. Please note, your account will not be re-credited if you should cancel inside the 12 hour period.

How does the waitlist work?

Simply add your name to the waitlist by clicking waitlist alongside the class you wish to take and you will be added to the class if a space frees up outside the 12 hour cancellation period.
Please note you will not be notified if any spot frees up within the 12 hour cancellation period and you will need to manually check and book yourself in.

I’m trying to buy class credits on the app but it’s not working?

At the moment, you cannot purchase class packages from the app. It is only used for for booking classes only and you can only book classes if you have class credits. Please make sure you purchase your class credits online and then use the app for booking.

Can I attend a class if I’m pregnant?

Firstly, congratulations! If you have been attending Reform Athletica classes on a regular basis prior to becoming pregnant, you are welcome to participate in regular classes until the end of your 2nd trimester provided you (1) complete our prenatal consent form; and (2) provide a doctor’s note confirming that you are cleared to train. Please ask one of our trainers or staff for a copy of our pre-natal form. Once completed, please send the form back to us, together with the doctor’s note, via email to info@reformathletica.com or bring the completed form and note into the studio where you train. Additionally, please be sure to let us know of your due-date so we can update your profile with your due-date. This will allow our instructors to be notified before you attend class that you are pregnant so that exercise modifications can be made for you.

Once you come to the end of your second trimester, we will require an updated doctor’s note and you will have to attend one PT session per week from then on to continue taking classes.

Once you have had your 6-week check with your doctor following the birth of your baby, we'll be delighted to welcome you back to the studio to help you get your body back after delivery.

For clients who are pregnant and new to Reform Athletica, we do not advise starting Reform Athletica classes, however we'll be happy to help get you back into shape after you've given birth.

Are there any class rules I should be aware of?

We thought you would never ask! To help us all have an amazing experience, here are a few to keep in mind:

  • All classes are non-transferable and non-refundable. No exceptions.
  • Be on time. If you’re more than 5 minutes late, you will not be admitted.
  • Talking during class can be a distraction to those around you… this also includes texting or taking phone calls while in class.
  • We know that your phone battery is always at 15% so please leave your phone in the charging dock stations during class (or in your locker if you have a full charge).
  • No shoes are permitted on the megaformers. Grip socks are suggested but not required.
  • Towels are provided, but please leave them in the designated laundry baskets.
  • Please cancel class using your online profile/app. Please do not rely on email or calling the studio.

Does Reform Athletica offer personal training?

Of course! Give us a call at 043233670 or email us at info@reformathletica.com and we will be happy to help you arrange for a PT session.

I want to buy a class package as a present to someone – how can I do that?

What a great idea! We offer gift cards with the different packages loaded on them. Please ask at reception or email info@reformathletica.com
